Dogs keeps lost man warm during cold night on Soutpansberg
If it was not for the two dogs that accompanied a 68 year old man on a walk, the efforts of several aircraft and 30 volunteer and professional searchers might have been in vain. The man set out with two Jack Russells at mid day on Sunday 21 March 2010 for a short walk to one of the panoramic views from the Soutpansberg Mountains 30km outside Makhado. He lost his way in the thick mist (which later turned into rain) amongst the huge boulders and dense vegetation. To stay warm, the man spent a cold night curled up under a small overhang with one of the dogs in front of him and the other at his back.
