"We have all returned home safely, but the memory of those who did not forces us to cherish that seemingly inevitable home-coming as a gift and a privilege, and to use what is left of our own lives wisely."

Expeditions

Each year, under the auspices of the MCSA, expeditions are organised by members of the Club to various remote and often unexplored areas. Over the years expeditions have taken place in the Himalayas, South America, China and even places such as Antartica.

The MCSA has an expedition fund, part of which is made available each year to a deserving party or expedition. Along with providing financial assistance to expeditions the MCSA is also accumulating expedition equipment. Currently this includes a Certec Bag (hyberbatic chamber), Radios and high altitude medical kits, along with hardware such are ropes, karabineers, pitons and other equipment that may not always be part of one's personal kit.
